A sports channel is a television speciality channel that broadcasts sporting events, usually live, and when not broadcasting sporting events they often feature sports news and other related programming. It is often available via cable and satellite.

Many streaming services don’t carry regional sports networks, so diehard fans may save more money in the long run by signing up for a cable subscription with their favorite RSNs bundled with other channels they want to watch. However, a few services — including DirecTV Stream and Fubo — do carry some RSNs, so they could be a good option for sports-only viewers who don’t want to pay for cable.
